Why this page exists?
 

Every business we write about at The Young Capitalist runs on one currency you can't put in a bank: trust. So before you read another word on this site, here's ours to you, spelled out plainly.

This policy tells you exactly what we collect when you visit The Young Capitalist, why we collect it, and what say you have over it.

What we collect?

We keep this list short on purpose. Here's what actually reaches us:

• Information you give us directly - If you sign up for our newsletter, fill out a contact form, or comment on our content, we receive whatever you type in: typically your name and email address.

• Information your browser gives us automatically. - Like almost every website on the internet, we collect basic technical data when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and how long you stuck around. This arrives through cookies and similar tracking technologies, covered in more detail below.

• Information from third-party tools we use to run this site - We build and host The Young Capitalist on Wix, and we may use analytics and search performance tools (such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Bing Webmaster Tools) and email marketing platforms to manage our newsletter. These tools collect data under their own privacy policies, which we link to below.

 

We do not collect sensitive personal information: no financial account details, no government ID numbers, nothing of that nature. This is a media site, not a bank.
 

Why we collect it?

Every piece of data above earns its place by doing one of these jobs:

• Running the site. Technical data helps us keep pages loading fast and fix what's broken.

• Understanding our readers. Analytics tell us which articles land and which don't, so we can write more of what's actually useful.

• Sending what you asked for. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your email address for exactly that: sending the newsletter. Nothing else.

• Responding to you. If you reach out through a contact form, we use your details to reply.

We do not sell your personal data. We're building a media brand on the strength of our ideas, not on selling reader data to the highest bidder.
 

Cookies, explained without the jargon

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember things between visits: whether you've seen our cookie banner before, how you found the site, that kind of thing.

We use Usercentrics, a third-party consent management platform, to run our cookie banner. When you first visit, you'll see a Privacy Settings panel letting you Accept All, Deny, or Save Settings for a customized mix, broken into categories like:

• Essential cookies — needed for the site to function; these can't be turned off.

• Functional cookies — remember your preferences and settings to improve your experience.

• Analytical cookies — help us understand traffic and behavior in aggregate.

• Marketing cookies — used to display advertising tailored to your interests, if we run any.

You can change your mind at any time. A floating icon in the bottom-left corner of the site opens your privacy settings whenever you want to revoke or update your consent, and changes take effect immediately going forward.
 

Who else sees your data?

We don't hand your information to marketers or data brokers. The only parties who touch it are the service providers that keep this site running:

• Wix, our website host and builder

• Gmail, if you subscribe to our newsletter

• Analytics and search performance providers (such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Bing Webmaster Tools), for aggregated traffic and search insights

Each of these processes data under their own privacy policies, and we choose providers that meet recognized data protection standards. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of The Young Capitalist and our readers.
 

How long we keep it?

We keep your data only as long as it serves the purpose we collected it for. Newsletter subscriber details stay on file until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is typically retained in aggregated form and doesn't identify you individually after a limited period.

Your rights

Depending on where you're reading this from, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you

• Ask us to correct inaccurate data

• Ask us to delete your data

• Withdraw consent for anything you previously opted into (like the newsletter)

• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your data (we don't sell it, but you still have the right to ask)
   

If you're in the EU or UK, these rights come from the GDPR. If you're in California, they come from the CCPA/CPRA. Wherever you're reading from, we'll honor a genuine request: email us at hiranshd9@gmail.com and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
 

Children's privacy

The Young Capitalist isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
 

When this policy changes

We'll update this page as our tools or practices evolve, and we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top when we do. If a change is significant, we'll make it visible, not buried.
